1. Application of Vegetable Shortening

One of the best way to treat eczema at your house is to keep aside the thick and greasy staple of your kitchen. The staple works effectively on the cracked, itchy and dry skin. All you need to do is to apply the grease on your affected area. After that wrap a plastic cover all over the area and then adjust it with the surgical tape. Keep the area covered for almost 2-4 hours so that your skin moisturises. If possible repeat this for a few days.

2. Application of Bathing Recipes

Mineral oil or a vegetable cup can be applied after mixing it with bath mixture. This mixture not just moisturises and soothes the skin which is itchy and dry. Another excellent home remedy to prevent eczema is to mix 2 tsp of olive oil along with milk and then add it to the mixture of your bathing water. Bathing with oatmeals also helps to ease the itchiness. Grind oatmeal in tiny powder-like particles and add the same to your water for bathing. You can also add 1-3 cups of Epsom salts rich in magnesium to remove redness. Lavender oil also helps in healing itchiness. All these are one of the best home remedies to ease eczema.

3. Eat Turmeric

Though most of the remedies are of tropical care, yet you can also go for ingestion. Turmeric consumption is an excellent idea to deter inflammation for an array of skin issues. Turmeric has an antioxidant named Curcumin. This is good for healing the skin and neutralising it free from the radical and protect the skin. To make the most of the remedy, try to eat a spoon of turmeric every day. Turmeric has an excellent, crisp flavour that blends well with pasta, veggies and cooked vegetables.

4. Application of Apple Cider Vinegar

One of the best disinfectant which has excellent healing properties. The application of apple cider vinegar soothes the skin and has inflammatory properties. You can use cotton strips or balls to dip them in the solutions of apple cider vinegar and then apply the same to the infected area. In case the area is huge then you can dip a towel in 50-50, a proportion of water and apple cider vinegar and then apply the same to the infected area. However, take caution as not to apply the solution if your skin is bleeding.

5. Application of Olive Oil

Another excellent and feasible home remedy is the application of Olive oil to the infected area. A naturally packed oil has Omega 3 fatty acids, and it is effective in reducing inflammation. To soften the patches on your skin, rub the infected areas lightly with olive oil. If your skin is affected by psoriasis, then you can add the same to your water while showering post application to your scalp. Also, another way to get rid of dry skin is an addition of Olive oil in your diet.

6. Eating Flaxseed

The chemical in your body arachidonic is responsible for inflammation in your body and flaxseed has Omega 3 fatty acid that helps block this above chemical. One of the best ways to consume flaxseed is to grind the seed and add the same to oatmeal, smoothies, salad or granola. Also, the flaxseed oil can be used on your sad as a dressing.

7. Application of Tea Tree Oil

The application of tea tree oil can heal variety of skin disease. The oil has excellent antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and also nourishing property. The oil penetrates deep in the skin and effectively moisturising it. If you are still not feeling well, then add the oil will olive oil and soften your itchy and dry skin.

The best option is to grow your aloe vera plants and extract the gel from its leaves, pure and natural. However, many drug stores sell pure aloe vera gel, and you can buy from there also.

9. Application of Baking Soda

This is easily available at all houses. If you are looking for a quick home remedy for eczema, then this is the best for you. All you need to do is to take 3 gallons of water and mix 1/2tsp of baking soda in it. Dip a cloth in the mixture and apply it in affected areas of your skin. This heals redness and soothes itchiness of your skin.

10. Eating Fish Oil

The last in the list is the consumption of fish oil. Several studies reveal that fish oil has inbuilt Omega 3 fatty acids. The oil helps in boosting the healing nature of the skin, and if taken in greater dozes then you can effectively improve eczema. It is advisable to consume 3gm to 10 gm a day. But before consuming consult your doctor for the supplements of fish oil. Though there are several supplements regarding salmon, olive oil, nuts, flaxseed yet keep at least 3-4 ounce of a canned serving of fatty fish as a source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Be careful before you choose a supplement for Omega 3 fatty acids. Several sources as sunflower, safflower and corn oil have been seen to worsen the situation of inflammation in people suffering from eczema.

 

All the above are an excellent home remedy to ease redness, itchiness, and dryness of skin caused due to eczema. Apart from the above-mentioned remedies that work best to soothe the aftermath of eczema, there are few which can be incorporated in each day life. Some of those include:

  • Application of coconut water.
  • Constant itching may lead to stress, and hence it is advised that you go for mediation.
  • Exercising is also a great way to relax both your mind and body. You can choose to hit the gym to ease stress.
  • Avoid taking alcohol as it worsens the condition of eczema.
  • A lukewarm shower is also an excellent remedy to ease the itchiness.
  • Intake of drugs is the last resort.

  • Atopic Dermatitis

The atopic dermatitis is both inflammatory and chronic. This kind is genetically induced. Having a family history makes the condition worse. To sum up, the type is hereditary and mainly found in kids.

  • Contact

Being in contact with irritants or allergens in your surrounding leads to redness of the skin followed by itching. Contact Eczema is primarily on legs, arms and other significant body parts that are exposed to the environment.

  • Varicose

This type is primarily found in women and later years. Prime causes of the varicose eczema are a blood clot in the legs, bad circulation or history of cellulitis and phlebitis. Women with extra weight rather overweight are more prone to this kind of eczema.

  • Pompholyx

Majorly confined to feet and hands. Watery blisters develop at the end of fingertips of both hands and legs. Mostly people over 40 years are prone to pompholyx.

Causes of Eczema 

Though there are no certified reasons behind the exposure to eczema yet, few believe that the body’s reaction with the allergens in the environment cause Eczema. The disease is common among kids having a family history. Skin pores open for germs thereby getting infected with eczema.

 

As it is evident that there are no significant care or cure for the disease yet taking proper measure and incorporating a good diet can help you reduce the effect if eczema or for that matter prevent it from flaring further.
