Title: A pedestrain introduction on gravitational wave detection and numerical relativity

Abstract:
I will first give a brief description of the physics underlying gravitational wave, its detection and the possible repercussions in high energy astrophysics. An overview is then given on the subject of numerical relativity and my personal view of its future development.
